Moisturiser first or sunscreen first?

The daily use of sunscreen is critical for your skin care, in particular when directly exposing your skin to the sun.  The use of a daily moisturiser is equally important, but if I put one before the other, does it have a better or worse effect?  This is a question I have been asked a few times and it can be quite confusing.

The general consensus is that sunscreen products work better when in direct contact with the skin, hence it is recommended to put sunscreen on before moisturisers products whenever possible.  The reason for this is that if you apply your moisturiser first, this may interfere with the chemical reactions required by the sunscreen to effectively protect your skin from UV rays.
